This growth rate is approximately 1% lower than the regional rate. “Chile would lead growth at a rate of 7.42%, closely followed by Argentina with 7.4%,” they added.
As for mobile Internet demand in the country, Peru has grown specifically in recent years due to the wider use of smartphones.
“As operators are expanding 4G coverage and LTE adjustment is growing rapidly. However, a dominant technology is still WCDMA, with over 60% of mobile connections in Peru on 3G, ”says the PwC study.
Chile, leader in the region, will reduce 70% of Internet penetration from 2023. The country will also have a gradual increase in inversions in fiber optic networks and 4G infrastructure.
Peru is not expected to get 5G by 2021, but this technology is still advancing slowly in the region.
