Producer prices in Colombia rose 0.19% in August, driven by costs associated with the manufacturing industry, the National Statistics Department (DANE) said on Wednesday.
The change in the Product Price Index (PPI) contrasted with the 0.7% fall in August last year and was below the 0.59% increase in July.
In the eighth month, prices associated with manufacturing industries increased 1.09%, followed by the agricultural sector, with 0.44%, while those related to mining and quarrying fell 3.54%.
The PPI is an initial reference to consumer prices, the main measure of local inflation.
In the accumulated value between January and August, product prices increased 4.43% compared to the previous year which was a total of 1.77%.
